There’s Music In All Of Us

One never knows where a new talent will appear. Perhaps, the next great composer is the student of modest means attending a Regional Boarding School, whose family lives in a mountain village. Perhaps, discovering this talent and supporting its development is in our hands.

This is one of the objectives of this music project, which is establishing music rooms in Regional Boarding Schools and other underserved schools around Anatolian Turkey. With the support of music teachers and school administrations, volunteers set up music classrooms that reflect the interests of students and introduce them to a range of musical instruments.

After determining the target schools, volunteers renovate the classrooms, obtain instruments, organize activities that contribute to students’ musical development, and arrange a year-end concert. To date, volunteers have renewed music classrooms in about 20 Regional Boarding Schools in eastern Turkey. Every one of these schools has received cymbals, classical guitars, drums, keyboards, recorders, mandolins, clarinets, and music stands.
